Family sessions

In our crazy, fast-paced, technology-driven world, it has never been more important for families to provide our children specific guidance for navigating all the challenges and changes they will face through the years.

The brain changes if one is exposed to some type of training, so that's why personal transformation is possible.

A generation ago, much of what promoted healthy children development happened more naturally:
open-ended play, screen-free time interacting with both kids and caring adults, quiet hours outdoors, running around, reading and concentrating on old-fashioned, traditional games. Nowadays, the vital life skills of attention and awareness can easily get lost in the chaos of so much technology, pressured academics, and our busy, busy lives.

But the goal for children isn't "awareness' as its own endpoint; it's that they lead happy lives.

That requires resilience, the ability to rebound after adversity. Even an experience as simple as an academic test gone wrong requires reigning in frustrated emotions and creating a plan to seek out help. At the other extreme, of course, resilience means the capacity to overcome the tragedies of life too. Thankfully, this capacity to bounce back is something any of us can develop at any age.

One of the best methods to support children in building skills that support resilience is introducing mindfulness loving kindness into their lives.

Mindfulness aims to build specific traits in everyday life, from calm, focused attention to the capacity to be responsive and less reactive when stressed, as well as guiding children toward more compassion with themselves and their peers. But most of all, to embody awareness in every day of our life. To be aware and present is going to lead us to a still, peaceful and content life.

I am thrilled that parents recognize the importance of their children understanding their emotions and feelings enough to provide this special experience in their life with the family mindfulness program.

My goal is to help every member of the families feel empowered in knowing how to deal with their emotions and in learning healthy ways to express themselves.

By working together, children and parents will learn that all of their emotions and feelings are okay and perfectly natural to have. They will learn to separate their feelings from who they are as a person. Once they learn the best ways to deal with their negative emotions, they will realize that they have the power to take control of their feelings and no longer be controlled by them.

Awareness is the foundation for all life experiences and skills. When children increase their awareness in the present moment, they can increase their attentiveness, better regulate their emotions, make safer choices, and raise their awareness of others' emotions. By using mindfulness to notice their own and others emotions, children can better employ appropriate interpersonal skills.

Change can be stressful, while peace may be described as skillful management of change and stress.

Peace is essential for a positive quality of life. To live in peace or harmony is to be able to create and maintain a calm and thoughtful existence in the mist of various forces -some of which may conflict- both with the individual and greater world. Peace needs to be continually renewed and reinforced.
Peace is ease, kindness, compassion and balance that requires self-awareness, clear observation, perception, understanding and development of skills.

Let’s work together looking to bring peace, clarity and wellbeing to the lives of children and families through the practice of mindfulness.

In the family program we offer personalized sessions for the needs of each member of the family, which will allow to make profound and lasting changes in the relationship with themselves and their loved ones.

The program will teach children and parents many ways of practicing to have new skills in their life. We provide a variety of activities to engage as they learn more about them-selves, including:

- Practices to help families show self-compassion when dealing with their feelings and emotions,

- Visual tools as videos and some interactive games,

- Grounding techniques to use in different situations,

- Exercises with tips that give children helpful ways to express their emotions, feelings and thoughts,

- Our special sound and musical awareness that will bring a beautiful perception about life itself.
